Coming in at roughly half the power of the ~140 kW Superchargers, these are meant to be in urban cities, specifically for people living in units or apartments. For people who don&#8217;t have access to home charging due to renting an apartment these are perfect. You can plug into one while you do the grocery shopping once a week and topping up becomes easy!<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>Supercharger stations in urban areas will be installed in convenient locations, including supermarkets, shopping centers and downtown districts, so it\u2019s easy for customers to charge their car in the time it takes to grocery shop or run errands. &#8211; Tesla<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 17px;\">Prices are the same for what is charged at regular Superchargers which is to say, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.alexshoolman.com\/blog\/2017\/08\/11\/tesla-model-3-vs-gas-cars\/\">cheaper than filling up with petrol<\/a>. What if you don&#8217;t even\u00a0<em><strong>have\u00a0<\/strong><\/em>a garage or parking spot at night? How are you supposed to charge your car?<\/p>\n<p>There has been some great ideas and pilot projects as of late to address this issue. However given the speed at which Tesla usually operates, they might quickly run over everyone else. One of the best implementations has been the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ubitricity.com\/en\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Ubitricity light pole chargers<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><span class=\"embed-youtube\" style=\"text-align:center; display: block;\"><iframe loading=\"lazy\" class=\"youtube-player\" width=\"750\" height=\"422\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/rKaEhBjt1ls?version=3&#038;rel=1&#038;showsearch=0&#038;showinfo=1&#038;iv_load_policy=1&#038;fs=1&#038;hl=en-US&#038;autohide=2&#038;wmode=transparent\" allowfullscreen=\"true\" style=\"border:0;\" sandbox=\"allow-scripts allow-same-origin allow-popups allow-presentation allow-popups-to-escape-sandbox\"><\/iframe><\/span><\/p>\n<p>These not only use existing light poles but neatly conceal most of the equipment too. Eventually it&#8217;s not hard to imagine most light posts, shopping centres and every other point where electricity already is having a charging point.<\/p>\n<p>It&#8217;s not clear yet if Tesla is partnering with businesses like they do with their Destination Chargers.
